We have been using peelers today to whittle branches. The children decorated their sticks with bright colours. Some of the children made magic wands and played Harry Potter, while others made pencils to write in the soil.

Year 3 had a creative afternoon at forest school, they made paint brushes from natural recourses and then painted a picture, they also pressed the natural dyes from flowers, grasses and leaves to make prints.

Tameside Tri-Golf Champions again!

Before half term, a big congratulations to 10 children in Year 4 who won the annual Tameside Tri-Golf competition, our second year in a row being Tameside Champions. A special well done to our Year 3 team who came runners-up in the competition and our fantastic Year 6s who helped organise and run the competition! -

As part of their current topic work, Year 3 are studying the UK and last week learned about the national anthem. They also found out that each of the home nations has a national song that it played at big events and in particular at international football and rugby matches. Mrs Knight and Mr Barsley have got together with a group of children and decorated a selection of small rocks. The rocks were then varnished and hidden in and around school. All children are invited to search for the rocks. If you find one please take it back to Mrs Knight, who will take your picture with the stone....

In Forest School year 3 have been making bird feeders out of waste fruit and skewers. Year 3 then attached string to hang the feeders from the trees in our forest. The children also took the opportunity to do some twitching (bird watching) as well! ...
