Its another new half term which means we have brand new sports clubs running! We have already had 75 different children sign up which is an amazing response. If your child would like to do a sports club please return the slip to Mr Bardsley.
Year one have been building bridges in Forest School using only resources found in the forest. The children were split into teams and then given the challenge to build a bridge to help Shrek and Donkey escape from the evil Godmother.
We are delighted to reveal that we have become the first school in Tameside to achieve the afPE Quality Mark with Distinction award from the Association for PE.
We have been awarded this prestigious award for “demonstrating outstanding commitment to Physical Education and Sport”.

Last week, Year One had a visit from a local war veteran called Graham as part of our on going Art Award. Graham brought along a number of war time artefacts which the children were allowed to interact with. Our challenge was to figure out what each artefact was using questioning and reasoning skills. Due to the ongoing snow today and forecast of more poor weather, school will remain closed tomorrow (Friday 2nd March). This is never an easy decision and is never taken easily. Mass will be postponed, and next week we will advise you of the revised date for that and World Book Day.
