Sports & Health Week Day 1

Welcome to St John Fisher’s Sports & Health week 2017. Our week coincides with School Sports & Health week nationally taking place at schools across the country. Throughout the week there is going to be lots of activities for all children to take part in as well as sports days.

Today has been a very busy start! Our Nursery and Reception classes this morning took part in a modified cycling session ran by Mitch and James from Active Tameside. The boys in our Resource Base had a special PE lesson with their coach Mr Edwards on how to throw a Javelin. Year 4,5 & 6 also received an active maths lesson combining sprinting with their addition and subtraction skills. Finally our day finished with our annual Key Stage 1 Sports Day. Thank you for all parents/guardians for attending. Lots more activities are planned throughout the week.

  1. Great seeing sports leaders developing their organisational skills. Also, the youngest children are given the opportunity to ride on bicycles; another good way to exercise. Hopefully, the weather won’t impact on the week’s activities. Well done to everyone
