Online Safety at SJF
Online safety is of vital importance at St John Fisher RC Primary School . We have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any online safety incidents are recorded and managed by the digital safeguarding team. Online safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
We publish a fortnightly 'Online Safety Newsletter' to update parents and staff on online trends and tips. You can find them here.
Our families can access our Online Safety Hub which is full of training, app guides and more and is updated constantly to keep up with the everchanging nature of the internet. You can also request guides if the one you are looking for isn't available. Online Safety Hub.
It’s essential to be realistic - banning the internet or technology will not work and it often makes a child less likely to report a problem. Education around safe use is essential and we are here to support in any way you need.
